Summer is not exactly the ideal season to go see a blockbuster film, which is the main reason why most “ambitious” movies usually open late in the fall and early winter before the New Year, to get those Oscar noms. During the summer most people think about beaches, exotic places like the Greek islands, hot girls in bikinis, icy cocktails, and are in the mood to flirt. However, even if we do go to the movies during the summer, we will usually go to a romantic outdoor cinema, more to watch the stars in a desperate attempt to get laid by our date than to see the film. (The geeks reading this article can skip the last sentence because you would watch Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens even if it opened in the middle of the Sahara.)
So, since every “normal” male happens to hide a major geek side (and even if you don’t, we don’t give a fuck because we do), we did some research and found eleven cool films opening this summer.
